Mullion January 2018
The Girl’s had their first coaching session of the year at a sunny yet bitterly cold Mullion. Katie introduced the new Girl’s to the group and spoke to everyone about psychology on the course. The girls completed a circuit of Trackman swing analysis, bunker and chipping skills with Grant and a short game of a few holes on the course.
Before playing the course the girls wrote down three ways of describing how they wanted their attitude to be for a round of golf, eg stay happy, keep positive, focus on the shot currently playing. They then put this into practice over a few holes to see how well they did. In the long run, noting down three positive mental skills that you want to succeed in and completing this on every hole should have a direct lead to a happier performance and evidently lower scores.
Everyone received a full swing analysis on Trackman, discussion any swing thoughts/ issues they were facing. Only subtle changes were made, but in some cases changing the swing by a small 3 degrees actually had a huge impact, for one... it was 60 Yards longer! Everyone had something to work on and think about to help improve their game.
Grant went through a range of short game skills focusing in particular on bunker play and chipping. They looked at a different range of shots and tweaking any methods (making them short game queens).
