February’s coaching session focused on short game skills which the girls had to complete in pairs. Katie had set up three skills tests on putting, two on chipping, one on bunker play and then a Trackman combine test for irons numbered 5-9. All short game and Trackman tests focused on the carry distance of the golf ball.
Unfortunately the weather took a turn for the worse so the girls were unable to get out on the course as was planned. Instead, they had an R&A rules quiz whilst warming themselves up in the clubhouse. The rest of the session was spent in the indoor studio where, using the Trackman and GC2 simulator, Katie and Grant set up a nearest the pin competition, straightest drive competition and a Trackman combine test competition.
The day was finished off with a fun game of tri golf where they had to hit a Velcro ball onto a target which was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone – well done to all the winners.
