St. Austell Golf Club– Monday, 6th August

A hot day  prevailed for the 52 pairs from 17 Clubs who took part in the 58th anniversary of Flag Day. The salvers were presented by Muriel Roskrow in 1960 to raise funds to buy a County Flag and the Competition has been held at St. Austell ever since and is a very popular event on the County calendar. The good conditions were reflected in the high scores returned particularly from Vice County Captain VickI Stevenson and partner Sheila Caruana  with 48 points which included 2 gross “2s” .  They were closely followed by runners-up Judith Beeton and Wendy Plummer from Falmouth  with 47 points.

There were 8 gross “2s” each  receiving 6 balls
