St. Austell golf club– Monday, 7th August 2017

Fair weather prevailed all day for the large field of 54 pairs from 18 Clubs who took part in the 57th anniversary of Flag Day. The salvers were presented by Muriel Roskrow in 1960 to raise funds to buy a County Flag and the Competition has been held at St. Austell ever since and is a very popular event on the County calendar. The good conditions were reflected in the excellent scores returned particularly from the Perranporth pair of Mandy and Jane who retained the salvers with 43 points on count/back from Nova Cauwels-Wigan and Rita Fenwick from Carlyon Bay. They were closely followed by Falmouth pair Carol Mitcham and Brenda Arch and County players Emily Toy and Lynn Saget with 42 points.

There were 9 gross “2s” each receiving 10 balls
