Final - St. Mellion v Perranporth

Trevose golf club – Sunday, 11th September

On a fine but windy Autumn day St. Mellion met Perranporth in the final of the scratch club team event at Trevose. It was a very close encounter between two strong teams. The first match between Sammie and Jan went to the 18th which wo Sammie won with a birdie. Jo did well to beat Megan which was a ding dong match. Nikki was 2up after 9 and she closed the match on the 16th. Vicky was all square after 9 but won on the 18th. Star Captain Jackie had a field day winning on the 13th and bringing her team to victory

Gammon semi-finals on Sunday 14th August

The semi-final of the Gammon Trophy was played in glorious conditions. Favorites St. Mellion playing Tehidy Park at The Point of Polzeath had a very tight match just winning 4/3. Perranporth playing Launceston at St. Austell had an easier run winning 4 1/2 / 2 1/2.
The final between St. Mellion and Perranporth will be held at Trevose on 11th September


Quarter Final -17th July 2016

The quarter final of the Gammon Trophy was played in glorious conditions. Trevose had a tough match against St. Mellion and lost 6/1 at Carlyon Bay. Victoria Pawley, the sole winner, played very well to defeat newly crowned English Champion Sammie Giles. In a close match Tehidy Park had the better of defending title holders Truro at West Cornwall winning 4/3. In another tight match Perranporth just squeaked through against Newquay at Truro 4/3. . The last match West Cornwall against Launceston was also very close at St. Enodoc, seeing Launceston through to the semi-finals 4/3 .

Eight matches Sunday 5th June 2016

The 2nd round of the Gammon Trophy was played in fine conditions. Trevose had a tight match against Killiow at Newquay, as they lost their 2nd player but finally won 4/3. St. Mellion with the Giles sisters and a good team had an easy win against St. Austell at Looe. Tehidy Park playing at Trevose beat Bude and N.C'wall 4/3. Reigning Champions Truro were successful against Falmouth at Tehidy Park. Perranporth had the better of Carlyon Bay at Truro. Newquay had a good day at Launceston beating St. Enodoc 4/3. West Cornwall had a strong team against China Fleet at St. Austell and Launceston beat Mullion at Newquay.
The next round on 17th July: Trevose v. St. Mellion, Tehidy Park v. Truro, Perranporth v. Newquay West Cornwall v. Launceston.
